You Can Be Adventurous

All of us are special of trying new things but we do not have to be. You can be adventurous in your everyday life. You do not have to climb mountains or skydive to be considered adventurous, we just have to step out of our comfort zone. Explore the world around you, Walt Whitman said it best

From this hour I ordain myself loos’d of limits and imaginary lines,

Going where I list, my own master total and absolute,

Listening to others, considering well what they say,
Pausing, searching, receiving, contemplating,
Gently, but with undeniable will, divesting myself of the holds that would hold me.
I inhale great draughts of space,”
He is expanding on the concept of allowing yourself to explore, allowing yourself the freedom to be expressive and seek new things. Whitman explains how as individuals we
should continuously seek to be courageous in everything we do and not to let doubts overcome our potential. That not allowing yourself to explore is limiting the possibilities for new experiences.
Ways you can step out of your comfort zone is by talking to those you interact with daily. Striking up a conversation about something you have in common is a way you can make new friends. You can also try a sport or activity that you’ve been afraid of trying. Bring a friend to encourage you and have a blast. You can even explore your surroundings. Sometimes we do not know what our community has to offer, a hiking trail or join a gym to get to know your neighbors. Being active in your community is a good way to be adventurous. You overcome a fear and make friends along the way
What are some adventurous task you want to try?

  1. I recently started a part-time job at a yoga studio where I interact with people before and after each class. I am an introvert so this is out of my comfort zone, but I really like it.

  2. I love what you said about not having to sky dive to be adventurous. All it takes is stepping outside of your comfort zone. I never thought about it like that but it is so true. I guess for me I would need to open up more and actually start talking to those around me instead of being so shy.
